From then on, the Hoyas struggled to hang on, as Missouri slowly crept out to a five point lead with 4:30 to play. Hollis Thompson dribbled the length of the floor and shot a three to send the game to overtime, but his shot was off the mark. After the ball switched hands a few times, Jason Clark managed to hang on to the rebound and give Chris Wright an open look. Wright nailed the three with 0.3 seconds to play, and the game was headed to overtime.
In the extra period, Clark made three consecutive three-pointers, and the Hoyas coasted to a 111-102 victory. Three Hoyas ended the game with over 20 points for the first time since the Duke game last season, as Austin Freeman led the Hoyas with 31, Clark had 26, and Wright finished with 21.
