Michigan In-Game Thread
By JohnnyHey everybody,
Johnny here at the Verizon Center and after standing in the drizzling rain over 2 hours before tip-off, the students were just allowed to pour in. It looks like they opened the gate an hour and 15 minutes early as opposed to the standard one hour from earlier seasons. We’ll have to see if they keep that up, or if the students bum-rushed the ticket scanners.
The Hoyas are out warming up, but the Wolverines have yet to make an appearance. Here are your starting lineups:
Hoyas: 2 Wallace, 3 Summers, 21 Sapp, 33 Ewing, Jr., 55 Hibbert
Wolverines: 1 Smith, 2 Lee, 3 Harris, 5 Morris, 11 Merritt
Keep your thoughts coming in the comments:

Now that the Wolverines and the Hoyas are back in the locker rooms, the Hoya Cheerleaders are on the court - with three boys!
November 15th, 2007 at 7:20 pm
Come on Hoyas!!1 Don’t let Beilein beat us on our court!
November 15th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
Crowd’s starting to pack it in here as the teams are doing some last minute layup lines before the National Anthem and starting lineups.
There are a fair amount of yellow shirts in the upper decks behind the coaches, and from what I noticed, there were a fair amount of yellow shirts at Chipotle before the gates opened.
November 15th, 2007 at 7:34 pm
Hoyas win the tip and turn it over on the first possession

November 15th, 2007 at 7:43 pm
So close to an alley-oop upstairs
November 15th, 2007 at 7:44 pm
Good hustle by Summers causes turnover and quick foul
November 15th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
What a bounce. Haha
November 15th, 2007 at 7:45 pm
And there’s Freeman’s first 3 as a Hoya
November 15th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Career high for him. Hahaha
November 15th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Nice defense hoyas — they’re scared out there
November 15th, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Yes Freeman!
November 15th, 2007 at 7:47 pm
So after scoring 2 points last game, the Hoyas already have 13 out of 26
November 15th, 2007 at 7:49 pm
And apparently, Jeff Green’s mom is in the building, much to the delight of the student sections.
November 15th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
Ewing to Sapp - first backdoor of the season
November 15th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
Nice to see the Hoyas try to pick up the pace a little
November 15th, 2007 at 7:50 pm
2nd airball for the Wolverines - the Hoyas look pretty intimidating on D tonight
November 15th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
Austin misses a quick 3 on JTII goes straight to Wallace on the bench
November 15th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
There you go Vernon!! With authority!
November 15th, 2007 at 7:52 pm
Big block by Macklin straight out of bounds. He looked angry that Lee even attempted such a shot.
November 15th, 2007 at 7:53 pm
Crawford’s in! Looks like he’s got more than 1.5 seconds already
November 15th, 2007 at 7:54 pm
Still no points for Vernin, but he gets an ovation as he gets subbed out. Good work from him so far tonight.
November 15th, 2007 at 7:55 pm
Floater doesn’t fall for Wright.
November 15th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
There you go Hoyas - nice feed
November 15th, 2007 at 7:56 pm
DaJuan isses layup on breakaway; probably couldn’t decide to dunk or lay it in. Hoyas lead 30-12 at the 8:00 timeout
November 15th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
Way to go Roy, way to saty with the play
November 15th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
OH MY!!!
November 15th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
Nice pass from Roy to Summers for a big jam
November 15th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
Roy misses a short jumper, but I like seeing him take that shot.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
Come on Roy. You gotta make those.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:05 pm
Nice hustle by the Hoyas on D, and it’s 36-17 with 2:39 to go in the half
November 15th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Man, that’s 2 on Roy
November 15th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
This is the kinda play I wanted to see against William & Mary. Glad it’s hapeening now
GO HOYAS
November 15th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
Great play by Sapp. 2nd time in the half he has to balance with his toes on the line to save the ball, and then he runs down the court and hits a 3
November 15th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
Atta boy VERN!
November 15th, 2007 at 8:10 pm
Macklin’s sweeping hook doesn’t go, but aggressive play gets the Hoyas a bucket anyway
November 15th, 2007 at 8:10 pm
great half hoyas - way to play!!!
November 15th, 2007 at 8:10 pm
I like what I see.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:11 pm
Hoyas lead 43-19 at the half. Dominating play on both ends of the court.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:11 pm
who is michgans stand out player?
November 15th, 2007 at 8:24 pm
Michigan’s stand out player? I guess Anthony Wright’s doing alright. Ended the half with a team high 5, with a 3 and a layup in 10 minutes.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:26 pm
For the Hoyas, everybody’s doing well, but for the 2nd time in as many games, Jessie Sapp’s looked good and had 10 at the half.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:27 pm
There you go Lil buddy
November 15th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
Nice in-bounds play gives Wallace a 3, and then Hibbert blocks a shot without leaving his feet
November 15th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
Watching on ESPN 360, excellent half of basketball by the Hoyas. While the offense has been quite effective, we’re definitely not clicking on all cylinders. Once the offense is running smoothly, watch out! On defense, I think we’ve been overplaying the passing lanes a bit, to pretty good results thus far. However, I think against more poised teams, we’re opening ourselves up to get beat on back doors. Keep it up Hoyas. No let ups!
November 15th, 2007 at 8:29 pm
YES ROY
November 15th, 2007 at 8:30 pm
This isn’t good- take care of the ball Hoyas
November 15th, 2007 at 8:30 pm
Play is getting a little sloppy out there, but Roy showed nice hands there as he caught the entry pass and made a post bucket
November 15th, 2007 at 8:34 pm
Big dunk for Big Roy
November 15th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
roy roy roy roy roy roy roy roy roy!
November 15th, 2007 at 8:38 pm

November 15th, 2007 at 8:43 pm
Nice drive Jessie
November 15th, 2007 at 8:44 pm
Backdoor for Freeman and he’s got 10
November 15th, 2007 at 8:47 pm
Looks like Amadou’s little brother won the Chick-Fil-A Dance Cam
November 15th, 2007 at 8:47 pm
Dont lose focus now Hoyas
November 15th, 2007 at 8:48 pm
You gotta love Jessie. Tried a little too hard on the pass and got a turnover. Then he aggressively gets the ball back, gets called for the foul, and walks away without complaining. Hard working and good-natured
November 15th, 2007 at 8:49 pm
Yes Vernon - big game for the big man
November 15th, 2007 at 8:53 pm
Macklin airballed from distance as the shot clock was winding down, but I liked seeing Freeman posting up on the block without the ball.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:54 pm
Nice take Chris!!
November 15th, 2007 at 8:56 pm
Hoyas’ 6th team foul means that the new jumbotron has been fixed to go above the NBA’s 5 fouls
November 15th, 2007 at 8:57 pm
Wright’s drive ended with him tangled with the cameraman, but it’s good to see his aggression
November 15th, 2007 at 8:59 pm
Fr. McFadden just referred to MASN as M-A-S-N.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:59 pm
I like it when he says spec-TAT-ors
November 15th, 2007 at 9:00 pm
Some students just recognized Kilkenny-Diaw in the building and chanted AMADOU! AMADOU!
November 15th, 2007 at 9:01 pm
nice jam!!
November 15th, 2007 at 9:02 pm
67-44 at the 4 minute timeout.
November 15th, 2007 at 9:02 pm
And the pep band is playing Hawaii-50 at long last!
November 15th, 2007 at 9:03 pm
Another 3 for Wright - our bench players are looking good
November 15th, 2007 at 9:04 pm
Where’s Roy? Looks like we haven’t played him the whole half
November 15th, 2007 at 9:05 pm
i guess we don’t need him today. Leting the bench get some more minutes
November 15th, 2007 at 9:05 pm
Omar Wattad is checking in for the first time this season
November 15th, 2007 at 9:06 pm
Nice tip in by Macklin, staying with the play after Wright’s attempt was blocked
November 15th, 2007 at 9:08 pm
And Omar misses his first attempt.
November 15th, 2007 at 9:08 pm
Bryon Jansen is leaving the bench for the first time too.
November 15th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
too bad Nikita can’t play
November 15th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
Nice block Omar
November 15th, 2007 at 9:10 pm
Winning by 25 with 23 seconds left, and foul on Freeman
November 15th, 2007 at 9:11 pm
Jam by Wolverines with 4 seconds left, and Wattad attempts last second shot.
November 15th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Good game Hoyas - let’s intimidate more teams from now on
November 15th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
Nice game Hoyas! Keep up the good work.
