Hoyas and the BCS

By Tony

The Hoyas’ victory last week over Michigan was one of epic proportions. I know the game was over at halftime, but even though Michigan seemed totally over-matched, they’re not a pushover team and they’ll fight for an at-large NCAA tournament bid. Most likely they’ll be a lock for an NIT appearance in their worst-case scenario. Here’s something interesting about Thursday’s result.

Mike’s Michigan Postgame Thoughts

By Mike

Teams

GU:
An all-around good performance for the Hoyas. The team came out firing, and after jumping to an early 12 point lead, they never looked back. Even in the second half, with most of the starters on the bench, they were able to maintain the size of the lead.

Tony’s Michigan Postgame Thoughts

By Tony

Teams

GU:
The Hoyas put together a very efficient first half. If it hadn’t been for the long-range focus from Georgetown, this game could’ve ended very differently. Give full credit to the Hoyas for beating Michigan at their own game. Georgetown was sharp on offense and smothering on defense. It was the type of performance against a quality opponent that sends a message to the rest of the country.

Michigan Recap

By Hoya Hoops

The Georgetown Hoyas improved to 2-0 this season with a convincing 74-52 victory over the University of Michigan (2-1). Georgetown scored the first 12 points of the game, and they never relinquished control. The Hoyas used a long range assault to overwhelm the young Wolverines who were playing their first road game of the season. Five different Hoyas made three-pointers in the first half, and Georgetown was 7 for 11 from long range at halftime.

Michigan In-Game Thread

By Johnny

Hey everybody,

Johnny here at the Verizon Center and after standing in the drizzling rain over 2 hours before tip-off, the students were just allowed to pour in. It looks like they opened the gate an hour and 15 minutes early as opposed to the standard one hour from earlier seasons. We’ll have to see if they keep that up, or if the students bum-rushed the ticket scanners.

Who’s Gonna Score Against Michigan?

By Hoya Hoops

Last game, Georgetown beat William and Mary 68 to 53. How close were you to predicting the score? Well, Zo was pretty darn close, predicting a 68 to 54 scoreline. So, Zo, we salute you, and your inner eye. On to the game for Michigan:

As Mike mentioned after the William and Mary Game, the Hoyas are going to need to get some scoring support from someone who didn’t start last year. So, our question is this:

Outside of Hibbert, Wallace, Summers, and Sapp, who will score the most points for the Hoyas, and how many will he score?

Our guess is Freeman leading the way with 8. Let us know what you think.
