By Johnny

Jack O'LanternHalloween’s tomorrow, so for any Georgetown fan who isn’t 100% ready, here are some last minute preparations to make this year’s Halloween rock.

The three essentials to any good Halloween are of course your costume, your pumpkin, and your candy.

We haven’t got much time until Hoyaween, so let’s get cracking.

Two Things to Know Before Midnight Madness

By Johnny

Midnight Madness is tonight, and before college basketball season officially begins, I thought I’d let you in on a couple things relating to tonight’s festivities.

Since there are only a few hours left, I’d better get going.

New Jersey

Besides kicking-off the new season, celebrating last season’s accomplishments, dancing around with celebrities, and introducing the team’s freshmen and half-freshman, Midnight Madness at Georgetown is a time to honor recent Hoyas beginning their careers in the NBA.

This year, that person is DaJuan Summers.

Costume Party

By Johnny

Tonight, Georgetown plays host to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, and it’s really important that the fans who make it to Chinatown bring their A game. I know the game is important for the struggling Hoyas who need to start off February ten times better than they played in all of January. But that’s not what I’m talking about. I’m talking about this.

Three Point Argument

By Johnny

So by now you should know about the new rule moving the three point line back a foot. But before the season gets underway on Monday, I’m going to answer the question that everyone wants to know: how should Hoya fans really feel about the line change?

Oklahoma City SuperSonics

By Johnny

For those of you who don’t know, Jeff Green and the Seattle SuperSonics are no longer Jeff Green and the Seattle SuperSonics. They are Jeff Green and the Okalahoma City … well no one knows just yet. Even though the move was made official back in beginning of July, they’ve been nameless ever since. Until now.

By Johnny

He had the opportunity to coach at his alma mater in one of the nation’s best conferences where he would most certainly get more media attention, better recruits, and most likely a nice pay raise, but to me, his refusal of the offer was no surprise. Why? George Mason is more fun.

Holy Week

For the first time in the history of the universe, Selection Sunday – the day Americans celebrate the beginning of March Madness – occurred on the same day as Palm Sunday – the day Catholics celebrate the beginning of Holy Week.

Sleepover

By Johnny

If you asked me to describe this past Wednesday’s game against St. John’s in one word, I would probably say “Sleepover.” Most likely, you would then ask me what the heck I was talking about, so let me elucidate here.

Think way back to those sleepover parties you used to go to when you were in junior high. Do you remember what happened? Usually, you’d have some food (hopefully with cake afterwards), you’d play some silly games, you’d hang around and watch a movie you’ve seen a million times, and then you’d stay up late chit chatting about personal things. That is basically what happened a few days ago at the Verizon Center.

Georgetown @ Maryland

By Johnny

Since yesterday was the 100 year anniversary of the first meeting between Georgetown and Maryland, I thought this would be a good time to talk about reigniting the local rivalry. Way back before the season started, Coach Thompson was asked when we would see the Hoyas and Terps face off again, and he responded by telling a story.
