A few weeks ago, we talked about the Wizards and the Capitals both making the postseason for the first time in 20 years. Well, the first rounds are over, and both Washington teams are taking their summer vacations a little earlier than they would have liked. And sadly, that seems to have been the trend this past year for most D.C. sports.

- According to Fox Sports, Vernon Macklin has decided where he wants to transfer to: the University of Florida. He will have to sit out next year and then will have two years of eligibility for the Gators.
- The Utah Jazz defeated the Houston Rockets 113-91 on Friday, sending Dikembe Mutombo home for the summer. Dikembe was the last Hoya still in the NBA playoffs after the Lakers sent Allen Iverson and the Nuggets packing last week.

Next season, Georgetown will be participating in the 2008 Old Spice Classic, an eight team tournament held in Orlando, Florida during Thanksgiving weekend. The Hoyas will join Gonzaga, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Siena, Tennessee, and Wichita State this November, and finishing out the field is local rival the University of Maryland. Perhaps, the two DC-area powerhouses will meet after all - and not in Cole.

| What the Hoyas Will Miss |
Since Vernon will be transferring this summer, the Hoyas are going to miss his big body presence and his athleticism. Without Roy in the paint, Macklin could have been a key part of a new up-tempo team.
