Field Goal Percentage
By Hoya HoopsFor our last Pregame Predictions, we wondered how Villanova would shoot from the free throw line. In the Hoyas’ 103-90 victory over Villanova, Georgetown shot 50 free throws connecting on 39 of them, while their counterparts went 17-23 from the stripe, or 74%. This was a close one: DBeck was only off by one, saying 18-23. But, that percentage comes out to 78%, which means that both Julien and Zo were closer, as they were two percentage points off on either side, saying 76% and 72%, respectively. But, upon closer inspection, 17/23 is actually closer to 73.913%, meaning Zo is the winner, if only by a fraction. Congrats, Zo!
Georgetown next turn their attention to Providence, taking on the Friars Tuesday at 7 PM. The Hoyas have been a streaky team the past few games, alternating between powerful performances and shaky showings. A key indicator about which Hoya team will show up has been field goal percentage. Since the start of Big East play, the Hoyas are 8-4, including the Duke game. But, the Hoyas are 6-0 when shooting above 50% from the field, and only 2-4 when shooting under 50%.
What field goal percentage will the Hoyas shoot against Providence?
We think the Hoyas will shoot 57% and get the win in Rhode Island. How do you think the Hoyas will do? Post your guesses.

52%…not that good by our standards, but high enough to beat the Friars. Here’s to 2 in a row, the team and my predictions!
