Georgetown:
The Hoyas used their smothering defense and efficient offense for a relatively easy win over their neighbors to the north. They held UMBC to only 32% from the field, while shooting 51% themselves. This has been the recipe for success for the Hoyas, and if they do it again, another Sweet Sixteen banner will hang from McDonough.

Hey everybody. This is Johnny checking in from the RBC Center in Raleigh, NC. The Gonzaga vs. Davidson game is at halftime, and it’s a thriller. The local Davidson fans have made the trip to Raleigh in full force, and they are giving the Wildcats a nice home-court advantage. The winner of this game takes on the winner of the Georgetown vs. UMBC game on Sunday, so Hoyas fans looking ahead should take the large Davidson turnout into effect when thinking about who they would rather face.
The team, though, is not looking past their opponents today, the UMBC Retrievers, champions of the America East conference. I’ll check back with more information on the Hoyas game when it’s closer to game time. Until then, watch whatever you can on CBS or CBSSports.com and get yourselves ready for the main event at around 3:00.

We’ve been talking about it for months. Georgetown and Maryland played their first ever game 100 years ago this past December. They competed regularly in the 1970’s, but after the scheduling fiasco that happened in the mid-90’s, the two teams have yet to play each other outside of the NCAA tournament. So how could the two area teams reignite their crosstown rivalry? My solution: play the game Maryland demands - Georgetown @ Maryland - but make sure that all the players are from the 1994-95 teams that would have competed back in the day.

Last time, we asked how many threes the Hoyas would make against Pitt. As it turned out, we were right with our guess of eight.
This Friday, the Hoyas start their quest for a national championship, taking on the UMBC Retrievers. It is a local match-up, and one Hoya in particular should be ready for the game.
How many points will DaJuan Summers score?
We expect DaJuan to have a good game, scoring 15 points. How many do you think the Baltimore product will put up? Let us know.
