Hey everybody, Johnny here. We’re about half an hour away from the second game in three days for the Hoyas, and you should expect another tough Big East battle. Fatigue may be an issue for the Hoyas, as the starters played a lot of minutes on Tuesday and may be called upon again to do so tonight.
Stay with us here, and keep your in-game thoughts coming in the comments.
January 14th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
lets go hoyas, need a big win, no let up.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:00 pm
Just showed the Hibbert 3 on ESPN. I love it.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:02 pm
Here are the starting lineups.
For the Hoyas, same as last game: Wallace, Sapp, Freeman, Summers, and Hibbert.
And for Pitt: Benjamin, Ramon, Brown, Young, and Blair.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
Pitt grabs the tip, and Blair gets a two to start the scoring.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
come on, we need to get better shots than that
January 14th, 2008 at 7:04 pm
Nice rebound Roy. That’s what we like to see!
January 14th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
Sapp’s been struggling with his drives lately.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
Great move by Wallace to handle a slightly off mark backdoor.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:06 pm
what a flopper, pound him roy
January 14th, 2008 at 7:07 pm
roy, make that!
January 14th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
At the 16 minute timeout, Hoyas are losing 8-4
January 14th, 2008 at 7:09 pm
14:26 in the first, Hoyas in the hole early, trailing 8-4. Pitt’s ball after the official timeout.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:12 pm
Over the back!
January 14th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
dude, he just shoved freeman in the back
January 14th, 2008 at 7:13 pm
Nice backdoor. Not so nice camera angle
January 14th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
Rivers in for Wallace, who got a little banged up as he got called for a block
January 14th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
hoyas need to start rebounding
January 14th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
11:57, timeout on the floor, Blair shooting two, Pitt still up 2, 8-6.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
lets go hoyas, get some points
January 14th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
all night long with those back doors!!!!
January 14th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
Ewing connects on the backdoor, to bring the score to 9-8 for Pittsburgh. Again, the pass puts the player a little too far under the basket, but the Hoyas have adjusted well.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
What a horrible glare on this court!
January 14th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
Hoyas use a thirty to regroup, hopefully get the three point shooting back on track, as they are 0-4 from downtown.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
nice by macklin, soft touch
January 14th, 2008 at 7:24 pm
He’s rolling around on the ground!
January 14th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
even macklin can abuse blair, and his post moves arent perfected yet
January 14th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Wallace turnover leads to 8 minute timeout, Hoyas still behind by 1, 13-12.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:28 pm
Hoyas haven’t been shooting the ball too well today, but the inside game and the backdoors are keeping them in it offensively. Defensively, it doesn’t seem like Pittsburgh has too many options.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
still no 3’s and no really clean looks at one
January 14th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
forced shot from freeman there, lets bring roy back to free up the shooters outside
January 14th, 2008 at 7:32 pm
Come on Hoyas, let’s get a hoop.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:33 pm
come on now hoyas, lets relax, run the offense and get an open shot
January 14th, 2008 at 7:33 pm
No shots are falling today.

January 14th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
There it is again - nice midrange jumper for Freeman, while Ewing limps to the bench for some treatment.

January 14th, 2008 at 7:45 pm

January 14th, 2008 at 7:46 pm
After struggling to get the ball in, Wallace makes a half court shot to end the half.
January 14th, 2008 at 7:46 pm
clearly off in time, tremendous momentum shift, lets go now, regroup at the half and take over, keep feeding roy
January 14th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
Hoyas are still losing 27-26 at the half, but we’ll have to see if that Wallace three can spark the Hoyas’ shooting which was 12.5% from downtown.
January 14th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
come on now hoyas, lets get a hoop
January 14th, 2008 at 8:06 pm
hoyas, take care of the ball

offensive boards are killing us
January 14th, 2008 at 8:07 pm
timeout
January 14th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
Hoyas have been struggling offensively, and not hurrying back on defense. As a result, Pitt gets two quick threes to push their lead to 8, 34-26. The Hoyas have yet to score in this half, and Thompson needs a timeout
January 14th, 2008 at 8:09 pm

January 14th, 2008 at 8:11 pm

January 14th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
After a couple baskets for the Hoyas, it’s 42-34 for the Panthers, and Pitt calls a 30 second timeout
January 14th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
thats the way, we jiust gotta relax, and get some STOPS!
January 14th, 2008 at 8:20 pm

January 14th, 2008 at 8:21 pm

January 14th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
wow, back to 9 in like 2 seconds
January 14th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
Second trip in a row for Pitt they get a bucket and a foul. They’ve restretched the lead to 8, 44-52, and they have a chance to add one more. And there are 4 fouls on Summers.
January 14th, 2008 at 8:31 pm

January 14th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
More free throws for Pitt, Hoyas down 7 with under 8 to play.

January 14th, 2008 at 8:43 pm

January 14th, 2008 at 8:53 pm

Its alright hoyas, pick it up, get them next time. focus on notre dame now
