I think enough has probably been said about the Old Spice Classic in terms of real basketball-related stuff, so I’m just gonna mention some fun things I noticed from my trip.
Teams
Georgetown:
After losing to Tennessee, the Hoyas become 3-1 on the season in their home gray uniforms.
Then, on Sunday, they earned win #1 in their road blue. It was the first time the team showed off their new unis and I think they looked pretty nice. They were definitely better than these.

Last time we focused on the freshmen, they had just played their first game and were not particularly impressive. What a difference a month makes. In the seventh game of the season, the freshmen duo of Austin Freeman and Chris Wright put on a show for the 8,000+ at the Verizon Center, leading the Hoyas to a 87-55 thrashing of Jacksonville.

On Sunday, Hoya Hoop Club members were invited to McDonough to see the 2008 Hoyas during an open practice. Open practices are a great opportunity for fans to get a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes of their favorite teams, and they can also get a sneak peek of the team’s new players who’ve yet to play a game in their team’s colors.
