A Month Later

By Mike

Last time we focused on the freshmen, they had just played their first game and were not particularly impressive. What a difference a month makes. In the seventh game of the season, the freshmen duo of Austin Freeman and Chris Wright put on a show for the 8,000+ at the Verizon Center, leading the Hoyas to a 87-55 thrashing of Jacksonville.

Johnny’s Jacksonville Postgame Thoughts

Teams

GU:
Georgetown put on a dominating performance that showed just how deep and versatile this team is. Too much has been said about the “Princeton Offense,” and analysts keep on trying to classify the way Georgetown plays under Coach Thompson III. All these categorizations tend to do, though, is limit what this team can do.

Mike’s Jacksonville Postgame Thoughts

By Mike

Teams

GU:
The Hoyas took control of this game early and kept the pedal to the metal the whole time. The Boys in Gray unleashed an 87 point outburst, topping their season average by more than 20 points. The large lead allowed the starters to get some rest, as only one starter, DaJuan Summers, played more than 20 minutes.

Jacksonville In-Game Thread

By Johnny

Hey everybody, Johnny here from the Verizon Center. We’re just about 40 minutes from the opening tip, and the Hoyas have just headed back to the locker room. Not too many fans here yet, and the student section is a little slimmer than usual. Maybe they’re all still studying for exams, and will try to show up closer to game time.

Here are your starting lineups:
For the Hoyas, your usual five: Wallace, Sapp, Summers, Ewing, and Hibbert.
For the Dolphins: Smith, Hardy, McMillan, Colbert, and Allen.

Keep your in-game thoughts coming in the comments.

Who’ll Put Up Points?

By Hoya Hoops

For the Alabama game, we asked you if the Hoyas would take more threes or free throws. As it turns out, Georgetown shot five more free throws than three pointers. DJ was the only one to think we would go to the line more often, and so he gets our congratulations. Congratulations!

DaJuan Summers has led the Hoyas in points for the past two games, and with Georgetown’s next outing coming this Sunday against Jacksonville, we’ve been wondering if he can make it three in a row.

Who will lead the Hoyas in scoring and with how many points?

We think it’ll be Big Roy with 18. He’s due to have a big game, and with his birthday coming up on Tuesday, he’ll want to play a major role in his last game as a minor.

Your guesses?
