Georgetown:
Georgetown gritted out another win, but the Hoyas have much to improve on. They committed 18 turnovers, some on the mild press, others due to poor passing. They also gave up 16 offensive rebounds, which made it hard to pull away. On the bright side, the team got a defensive stop when they needed one, and are able to walk away from this game with a victory. More »
It was another incredible finish as the Hoyas defeated the Villanova Wildcats for the first time in the Verizon Center with the final score of 55-53. After a defensive stop on the final possession, Jonathan Wallace was fouled and made two free throws with 0.1 seconds remaining to give the Hoyas their 18th straight home victory. Hey everybody, Johnny here at Verizon Center. We’re still about half an hour from the opening tip, but there are already more students here than there were at the USF game. How many threes will the Hoyas make against Villanova, and who will have the most?
We’re going to go with 11 trifectas with Sapp leading the way with three of them. What do you think?

For the Hoyas, it was ten years ago today that Georgetown played their first game in their new home. More »
