Georgetown:
The Hoyas pulled out another win in dramatic style. It seems as though all the pieces are not yet in place, as the team can still go stretches with limited offensive production. But, for the third time in the Big East season, the team has been able to dig down and get scores when it matters most, and this time they have another hard-earned road win to show for their efforts.

Jessie Sapp made a three-pointer with 6.2 seconds left to give the Hoyas a one-point lead. Then Patrick Ewing Jr. blocked a layup as time expired to preserve the win and give the Hoyas their second straight victory at the buzzer. Da’Sean Butler drove baseline on the last possession, and as he got to the rim, Ewing swatted his shot away. Coach Bob Huggins and the West Virginia coaching staff were appalled that the block wasn’t ruled goaltending, but the referees thought it was a good block. Television replays were inconclusive.

Hey everybody, Johnny here from the West Virginia University Coliseum in Morgantown. This is going to be a crucial game for both teams, as the Hoyas are facing their toughest challenge of the middle third of the Big East Season, and West Virginia can sit atop the conference with a win tonight. Big East games are always hard-fought, and road games are that much more difficult, so don’t expect this to be an easy game for the Hoyas.

The Big East will be competing in an 18-game conference schedule this season. That’s two more games than in previous years. At this point, the Georgetown Hoyas have completed the first third of the season. Through their first six games, the Hoyas are 5-1 and in sole possession of first place. They’re 33% of the way there to repeating as Big East regular season champs. The conference schedule very neatly falls into three parts, and now is a good time to examine where the Hoyas are, going into their tough game this weekend in Morgantown, West Virginia.

For the Syracuse game, we asked you to predict the minutes the Georgetown bench would get, seeing as the Orange don’t go deep. The bench for the Hoyas played 57 minutes and combined for 11 points. Perhaps the overtime threw off a few of the guesses. Luca was the closest with his guess of 58 minute. Nicely done.
This year’s West Virginia team is known to score, as they are averaging nearly 80 points per game. Hopefully, the tough Georgetown defense will play a part to slow down the scoring, but someone will have to step up and provide some points for the Hoyas as well.
Who will lead the Hoyas in scoring and with how many points?
We think Roy Hibbert will have 23 points. What do you think?
